I decided that I would crochet a dog mat from my one skein of very thick yarn for my so cute small dog. And I tried to write the pattern in English. The pattern uses US terms and stitches include chain (ch); single crochet (sc); slip stitch (sl st). It is very easy!
What you need(Supplies)
- Bernat Blanket Extra Thick Yarn 1skein
- Crochet hook 15mm
- Markers
- Scissors
Measurements
- Approximately 22inch (55cm) diameter
Instructions
- Ch2
- Round1 : 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 6 sc. Continue working in spiral as follows.

Do not join at ends of rounds. Continue working in spiral placing marker on first st of round for easier counting.
Round1 - Round2 : 2 sc in each sc around. 12 sc.
- Round3 : *2 sc in next st. 1 sc in next st. Repeat from * around. 18 sc.
- Round4 : *2 sc in next st. 1 sc in next 2 st. Repeat from * around. 24 sc.
- Round5 : *2 sc in next st. 1 sc in next 3 st. Repeat from * around. 30 sc.
- Round6 : *2 sc in next st. 1 sc in next 4 st. Repeat from * around. 36 sc.
Round6 - Round7 : *2 sc in next st. 1 sc in next 5 st. Repeat from * around. 42 sc.
- Round8 : *2 sc in next st. 1 sc in next 6 st. Repeat from * around. 48 sc.
Round8 - Round9 : *2 sc in next st. 1 sc in next 7 st. Repeat from * around. 54 sc.
- Fasten off.
- If there is any yarn left, you can do crochet with sl st as much as you can.
When I finished crocheting this dog mat I was so satisfied. However my dog does not like this dog mat, so I could not take a picture he was on the mat. I was so discouraged.
